The transition of my photo-takings
How I've changed from an amateur pretending to professional, or at least attempting to be, to a slightly better amateur pretending to be professional, or at least attempts to be one.
From trying not to point-and-shoot, to better grasped knowledge but mostly flawed of the workings of shutters and apertures, to calculated angles and lighting and finally macro and manual zoom and focus features, the road has been more than a year so far and the improvement is visible.
The first few attempts not to be amateur, the results were averageable.
The most noticeable of the improvements were the sunset pictures, id est, pictures of sunsets. By the time I got to JC, at innova, I had some graspings of aperture 2.0 As seen in the flower picture, the background picture is blurred. This allowed for greater planned pictures.
A significant growth was seen in my trip to Australia. One of the main reasons why I want to travel is because each trip provides opportunity for growth and learning as well as snapshot opportunities. However lighting control in Australia pics were really bad. I didn't have much done in the lighting control, hence most pics were over-exposed or under-exposed or had rogue shadows.
The trip to Europe proved my theory right. Travel improves my photography skills.
I grew exponentially as lighting, exposure, shutter speed and apertures were controlled and mastered. Some featured manual focusing and a full manual mode. Quick fingers were also quickened because of some fleeting scenes, those that you couldn't wait to get the best angle because then it would have been gone already.
----
Why am I mentioning all these? Well I'm going to Thailand soon on the 1st of June, and I feel that I might not be able to glean as much as I wish to from this trip because it's a trip with my parents, I wouldn't have the freedom as I did in Europe.
Freedom is my passport to a trip of learning and improvement. I wasn't particularly happy in my Australia trip, I did mention. I went with them too for that one.
I hope to earn enough in my break after the A levels for an air ticket to America with my cousin. To America, without my parents once again, is a trip I relish and fervently hope for. I wouldn't want to borrow again for a trip there. Maybe for the expenses, but the air ticket, I would want to pay for it myself.
