Procrastination defeated, Thailand pictures emerge.

The title explains it all, right?

In Thailand for 8 days, even longer than the time I spent in Europe, yielded lesser quality pictures. This is not surprising however, and I thanks the stars and moon and whatever that at least I have about 20 plus passable pictures, with one or two even good enough to be considered for portfolio entry.

Here are the pictures. I shall more or less go in chronological order.

Take the lead

A message on the alcohol carrier, it says 'take the lead, drink responsibly'. Yea like anyone stoned right off their alcoholic mind is willing to read that miniscule message, or even able to understand it.

Rusty phone

The first artistic, arthouse, ok-quality faux-symbolic picture that I took in Thailand. A rarity in Singapore, a totem to the resistance of change in Thailand, and oh-so-totally disgusting to use, when hanging above is a watchful spider hanging from its web and the phone is rusted off its hooks.

Complex networks

The second attempt at artistic, arthouse etc. etc. and this features the lifeline of Thailand, of electricity and truthfully, it is quite unsightly in its sprawling chaos and disorderly placement. Quite a blemish really, but in it is its beauty.

Like I understand what I'm talking about (actually I do).

Road

Nothing extraordinary. Just a road.

Mobile Fruit Seller

Rent doesn't bother him. Authorities chase him. Fuel prices scare him. Meet.... the mobile fruit vendor! Armed with a a trusty motorcycle, wielding bags of groceries of eggs, celery, vegetables and some other random stuff, he brings cheap (and somewhat unhygienic) goods to the residents of Sattahip Naval Base.

Sun, sea, and a Laser

The Laser's the boat, the sea's the blue thing below and the sun is nowhere in sight. Maybe I meant to type 'Sky, sea and a Laser' as the title instead...

Workings of a young mind

Interesting to see what a small kid can come up with to fascinate himself. I found this picture so-so in terms of photographic skills, but i like the way his reflection is reflected off the wet sand.

Heineken

The preferred drink there, by the Singaporeans, who readily drink 'Probably the best beer in the world' instead of local brand 'Singha'. The multiple discarded bottle caps strewn around the ground attest to it.

Shell

Nothing much to say about it. It's a shell.

Workings of a young mind, part II

More pics of kids at play. Fascinating. Oh dear I sound vaguely pedophillic. Will my nose drop off next???

Contraptions

This particular piece of rope swing, a simple and crude one constructed out of rope tied around the centre of a single metal pipe provided lots of weird things for the Singaporean younger contestants. Like extending with their own ropes the swing to make a harness for the leg, or by tying a chair underneath to form a seat-down swing of sorts.

And the sun began to set...

This was taken on the 4th day I think.

The tide climbs...

I stuck my camera in the sand and amongst the rocks for this shot. I took two pictures, one where the tide was just about to break, the second being this, when the tide washed in. I kinda preferred this better, because it makes the sandbed all shiny.... oooohh bling bling!

Nature and nature's being

The dog was kind enough to pose for me. Pretty cool huh?

The torch that never was

Luckily for me I took the picture of the torch before all the other kids started to play with the 5 torches on the beach and successfully extinguishing all of them.

Night falls, but hurrah for slow shutters

This was taken at 9pm plus I think? But thanks to slow shutter 30 seconds, F2.0 aperture and what else, oh yea a filter of I-can't-remember-what, the sky still looks relatively bright. Man it looked really good on my camera, but bringing it to the computer kinda didn't bring out the über-ness of how it looked like on my camera.

Prayer

Taken on the 3rd last day. This was taken at the four-faced buddha statue.

Nature's telephone wires

This was taken on the second last day in Sattahip, at the fruit farm. A grape vine tendril, I think.

Bee!

Closeup of a worker bee! Didn't take a picture of the queen bee though.

Le grand finalé

Watch someone piss fire! Woah he really really held it back in huh?

That's all.
